Review: “Watchtower of Turkey”

Watchtower of Turkey is a culmination of Leonardo Dalessandri’s travels, a poignant and beautiful depiction of  the Turkish landscape, culture and people. With an increasingly rousing score by Ludovico Einaudi and a beautiful edit that builds to a blistering pace -transitioning smoothly between set pieces- the video sells a marvelous view of the country. Although there’s no defined narrative, this video acts as a brilliant reminder of the power of editing and music, as a puzzle of unrelated voyeuristic shots build to a truly cinematic experience.
