Jamie XX departs The XX for his first solo album, “In Colour”. “Gosh” is the second official cut from the LP and with the video he serves us a breathtakingly beautiful tour through the cosmos, opening with an exhaustingly long zoom towards what appears to be Mars. Gorgeous as it is, this portion maybe overstays its welcome but the lingering shot against the hypnotic trip-hop track is quite a nice juxtaposition. Stay the course and you’ll be granted with stunning VFX shots of human settlements and the Martian geography, courtesy of director and digital artist Erik Wernquist. As we orbit the planet the red and grey hues turn to a lush green as forests emerge in the distance, revealing half the planet to be a terraformed landscape.
