Review: Sade & Tsuneo Goda/dwarf “By Your Side”

It’s safe to say I’m a sucker for anything stop motion and this video for “By Your Side” is certainly no exception. Following the devastating events of the 2011 earthquake and accident at the Fukushima nuclear power plant in Japan, Tsuneo Goda and stop motion filmmakers dwarf collaborated with  Sade in hopes to bring attention to the children who have been traumatised by these events and raise money for El Sistema, a global movement helping improve the lives of children through music. Using the song “By Your Side” from Sade’s 1999 LP “Lovers Rock”, Tsuneo Goda and dwarf created a beautiful  and touching animated piece highlighting the effects natural and man made disasters can have on the loved ones left behind.
